When the NBA announced the creation of the G League Ignite program in 2020, it took the basketball world by storm and was perceived as a big time threat to the NCAA and college basketball recruiting as a whole. Instantly, it became a hot option for top recruits as Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Isaiah Todd, and Daishen Nix headlined Ignite’s initial roster. Years down the line, Ignite has received commitments from a boatload of top recruits throughout the years like Scoot Henderson, Ron Holland, Matas Buzelis, Jaden Hardy, Michael Foster, London Johnson, Dink Pate, Thierry Darlan, Izan Alma’s, Tyler Smith, Dyson Daniels, and Marjon Beauchamp.
