Vaccinating Children Against the Virus of Racism | Riana Elyse Anderson | TEDxDetroit |
|
Black youth have experienced racial terror for generations, but 2020-pandemic, policing, and politics-raised the stakes. Since the social virus of racism is endemic to America, it is time we use proper prevention methods. Watch for treatments that can heal and inoculate us from this social disease. Dr. Riana Elyse Anderson is a daughter of Detroit, Carnival caravanner, public health professor, mental health maven, and carb connoisseur. She’s been working with Black youth and families from South Central LA to Southwest Detroit to heal from racism and engage in activism for healthy communities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
