Stress is not just a mental issue, it can hurt physically too. Many people who are unable to deal with stress resort to poor habits and actions, just to relieve the stress. While some binge-eat or infuse their bodies with sweet things like ice-cream, others reach for drugs and alcohol. While these may be quick fixes, it’s never a healthy or long-term solution.

Exercise has numerous physical and mental health benefits, including stress relief. This is because when you exercise, hormones called endorphins are released, which are known to fight stress. Besides that, exercise also helps get your mind off your problems and that can relieve your stress.

If you are looking to relieve stress in a natural way with no side effects, then exercising is your best bet. However, we know that some exercises are more helpful in relieving stress than the others. Knowing what kind of exercises to do, in order to relieve stress is also key.

In this video, we want to share the following exercises designed to help you relieve stress naturally.

Aerobics.
Aerobic exercises like running, dancing, spinning, roller skating and the likes, can increase your heart rate, which induces the release of endorphins, a natural opiate that makes you feel good with no side effects.

Yoga.
Yoga is an excellent exercise for stress relief. It is a mindful exercises that involves a number of stationary poses and deep breathing. What yoga does is bring your body to a healthy balance and also helps your body’s natural response system. The biggest benefit of yoga is inducing mental focus, which is a stress management tool.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a number of self-paced, fluid body movements, rooted in the martial arts. It is designed to calm the mind and condition the body. It is for this reason that it is an excellent choice for stress relief. One advantage of Tai Chi is that you can practice from anywhere and at any time, hence making it easy to incorporate into your everyday life. Aside relieving stress, this exercise is known to build bone density, boost your immune system, lower blood pressure and improves your sleep. So, it is definitely a top choice for relieving stress and achieving optimal body performance.

Pilates.
This is a number of controlled movements and mat exercises. It is an anaerobic exercise designed to build flexibility, strength and endurance. It is also known to be a stress reliever, aside toning your body, and helping you look and feel better. Like yoga, mental focus is needed for Pilates. This focus zaps you into the moment and leaves no mental room for worrying, planning and all the things that cause you stress.

Circuit training.
This exercise incorporates weight training with cardio, interlaced with short period of rest in-between. It is high intensity and gives you all the amazing benefits of a longer exercise time, in a shorter time. It pumps up your body’s endorphin level, leading to better mood.
