Tufts Entrepreneurial Network (TEN) invites you to a special broadcast where recent Tufts alumni entrepreneurs will share their insights on what it takes to start an E-Commerce business. Our all-star speaker line up will talk about their start-up journeys, how to acquire customers, approach to hiring top talent, and how to stand out in a crowded field.
This presentation will feature: Rachel Blumenthal, A02, and Lia Winograd, A12, our moderator for the evening is Mugs Buckley, J85. Lia Winograd, A12, Co-Founder and COO, Pepper. Lia Winograd is the Co-Founder and COO of Pepper, an unapologetic bra brand for cup sizes AA, A, and B. Prior to Pepper, she was a former management consultant from McKinsey & Co. and holds an MBA from Stern NYU. She is fluent in Spanish and native to Colombia, managing the production and supply chain process with Pepper’s Colombian factory. Rachel Blumenthal, A02, Founder and CEO of Rockets of Awesome. A New York-based entrepreneur and mom, Rachel, created Rockets of Awesome in July 2016 to offer parents a simpler and smarter way to shop for high-quality kids clothing. She began her career at Yves Saint Laurent, before launching her first entrepreneurial venture as designer and founder of the fashion jewelry brand Rachel Leigh. The brand was licensed to GlamHouse in 2011. Rachel then lent her hand to Warby Parker, which was co-founded by her husband Neil, before founding and acting as CEO of Cricket’s Circle, the trusted resource and editorial destination for everything baby and toddler. It was the insights and lessons from the Cricket’s Circle community, in addition to her own experience as a mother that inspired the idea for Rockets of Awesome. (Moderator) Mugs Buckley, J85, VP of Marketing, Chairish. As the VP of Marketing at Chairish, Mugs Buckley oversees the company’s public relations, partnerships, content marketing, social media, trade relations, and SEO initiatives. Prior to Chairish, she served as VP of Marketing at Federated Media, where she worked closely with many blue-chip brands and influential bloggers to develop content marketing programs. Mugs began her career at the Discovery Channel where she was the Executive Producer of Discovery’s award-winning multimedia production unit and has held management positions at Comcast, ZDTV (now EsquireTV), Liberate Technologies and RespondTV. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Group and of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Interactive Media Committee and holds a BA from Tufts University and an Ed.M. in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. |
