Gayle D. Beebe is in his 13th year as president of Westmont College and his 27 th year in higher education. He completed his doctorate (Ph.D.) and master’s in philosophy of religion and theology at Claremont Graduate University and also earned his MBA in strategic management from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont. He received his master’s in divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and earned his undergraduate degree from George Fox University in Oregon. He spent a wonderful semester as an exchange student at Westmont in fall 1980. An active scholar, he has written or edited 10 books and more than 40 articles, including The Shaping of an Effective Leader: Eight Formative Principles of Leadership and Longing for God: Seven Paths of Christian Devotion, which he co-authored with Richard Foster. He has been married to Pam for 31 years, and they have three adult children: Anna ’15 (27); Elizabeth ’17 (25); and Ricky ’21 (21). Anna and Elizabeth graduated from Westmont, and Ricky is a Westmont student.
