Hello Everyone. Today we are reacting to a user requested series by the YouTube channel "Epic History" about Napoleon and his conquest of Europe. It will begin with his crucial victory at the "Siege of Toulon" and end with his exile to the British owned island of Saint Helena in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. There are also a few nonchronological videos for important background information. I am looking forward to the rest of this series.

After more offensives in Spain, in the Summer of 1812 Napoleon and his allies/puppet states invaded the Russian Empire with the largest army Europe had ever seen at that time. Unfortunately, thanks to supply/logistic issues, the war in the Iberian peninsula, and with Russia learning from their previous mistakes, Napoleon and his allies started to delay his advance with an unforeseen human cost. The campaign that followed saw the Russians use scorched earth tactics to deny the enemy supplies, while Napoleon advanced further and further into Russia, searching in vain for the decisive blow that would force Emperor Alexander to negotiate peace. In this particular episode, however, it covers the bloodiest battle in Napoleonic history. Napoleon assumed that if he could decisively defeat Russia at Borodino, he could capitulate the Russian Empire.
