Israel's Iron Beam laser weapon system is a more recent development in military technology. It is the world’s first energy-based weapons system that uses a laser. The system can shoot down incoming UAVs, rockets, and mortars at a cost of $3.50 per shot. It will be integrated into the Iron Dome air defense system.
