The search for survivors in the Turkey and Syria earthquake is growing more desperate as the death toll surpasses 20,000. An Sydney family is grieving the loss of Can Pahali after he traveled to province of Hatay for a holiday when the two earthquakes struck on Monday. More than 70 NSW Fire and Rescue emergency service personnel are preparing to board a plane to the disaster in Turkey and Syria to search for survivors and to provide aid for the injured. The World Bank has made an enormous pledge in response, announcing $1.78 billion in aid for the worst hit zones.
