A Medical Revolution: Targeting aging directly | Brian Kennedy | TEDxOnBoard

video thumbnail
Internationally recognized for his research in the basic biology of aging and as a visionary committed to translating research discoveries into new ways of delaying, detecting, preventing and treating human aging and associated diseases. Aging research has recently identified a number of promising strategies that may slow human aging. Given that (1) 20% of humans on Earth will be over 60 in the near future, (2) aging is the biggest risk factor for the vast majority of chronic diseases that reduce quality of life in adults, and (3) effective therapies for aging are likely to prevent many chronic diseases simultaneously, I make the case that it is critical to test longevity strategies in human populations as soon as possible. @BKennedy_aging
