The northeast monsoon, which Filipino term is “amihan,” is continuously affecting northern and central Luzon and will bring cloudy weather and rain over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands, according to the state weather bureau on Wednesday afternoon, November 24, 2021. Meanwhile, the shear line, or the tail end of a frontal system, will cause scattered rains with lightning and thunder in mainland Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora. The intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ, on the other hand, affects the Mindanao region and the rain it causes extends to as far as Sorsogon, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao region. As for Metro Manila, rain is likely to occur Wednesday night, says the state weather service. Video by DOST-PAGASA/kga
