The art of social change: Fatima Hassan at TEDxHarvardLawSchool

Fatima Hassan is a student at Harvard Law, where she is a student attorney with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau. Her interests span from law in developing countries and emerging markets to media, gender equality and foreign policy. Fatima was honored by the White House as a "Champion of Change" for her work in mobilizing the diaspora during the East Africa famine in 2011. Fatima graduated in 2009 from Stanford University with degrees in Human Biology and African Studies. She served as President of the Muslim Student Awareness Network (MSAN) and as a staff member at the Women's Community Center.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
