The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported severe heatwave conditions in parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. Heatwave conditions also persist in many areas of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh. Gujarat has experienced these conditions since May 15th, and Saurashtra & Kutch since May 16th. Tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh to escape the intense heat of the plains are disappointed to encounter a heatwave in parts of the state. These conditions are expected to persist in isolated areas of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, and Shimla districts for the next 4-5 days, with the possibility of a severe heatwave in these regions.
