Seki sensei’s sensei, the predecessor of Asayama Ichiden Ryu, Osaki sensei taught Seki sensei, that he must always use his tools sparingly, but take the best care of them. That’s why Seki sensei never holds anything back when using his Iaito, but has been fixing and using the same one for more than 25 years.

And there was one more important reason why, this specific Iaito is so important. Seki sensei was originally using a short Iaito, and when he officially started his training in Asayama Ichiden Ryu, Osaki sensei gave him this 2.6 shaku Iaito. This Iaito has been together with Seki sensei as long as he has been training in his Ryuha he is the headmaster of today.
