Interim Lightweight champion Dustin Poirier went up against undisputed champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Porier did all he could to gain the win but Khabib was too strong for him. This fight in Abu Dhabi was too important for him with his father in his corner for the first time in his career with him being champion and he couldn't let his father, coaches or brothers down and couldn't allow this fight to slip away from him.
