Knowledge of the five elements allows the yogi to understand the laws of nature and to use yoga to attain greater health, power, knowledge, wisdom and happiness. This arises out of deep intuition of how the universe operates. Half Day Retreats by Carol (Harmony and Healthy Yoga) I am excited to be hosting this special health and wellness retreat set in a tranquil and serene Queensland location just 20 minutes' drive from the iconic Gold Coast beaches. You will spend half the day in the lush and intimate Gold Coast hinterland - a setting that will reinvigorate and re-energise the mind, body and soul. About this retreat At this half day retreat I will introduce you to principals of yoga that allows you to increase a sense of calm that will encourage clarity and release tension of the body and mind. My session's will supply you the formual to feel light and gain greater stability through the practical applications that yoga and mediation creates. Spend this time to relax and recharge as I help you to get a better understanding of the benefits of yoga for mental and physical health. I will give an in depth explanation of breathing techniques of Pranayama and simple yoga postures that will improve your overall mental well being. Yoga does more than make you feel good, this practices has real, concrete results for the mind and body - with the changing environment that we've all experienced maintaining a mental health and wellbeing and adapting to our changing circumstances is key. By learning and experiencing the benefits of yoga you will discover the balance to the ebbs and flows of life through the principals of yoga. These yoga session will be particularly helpful if you are feeling drained from the overwhelming pace of the everyday life, and would like to restore emotional balance, reduce anxiety and become more grounded and focused. To complement the benefits of the yoga session, I will introduce you to the 5 elements to 'Purify Our Being' and learn how to use nature's five elements: earth, water, fire, air and space workshop. Each of the five elements represents a state of matter. Earth is not just soil, but it is everything in nature that is solid. Water is everything that is liquid. Air is everything that is a gas. Fire is that part of Nature that transforms one state of matter into another. For example, fire transforms the solid state of water (ice) into liquid water and then into it's gaseous state (steam). Withdrawing fire recreate the solid state. Fire is worshipped in many yogic and Tantric rituals because it is the means by which we can purify, empower and control the other stats of matter. Space is the mother of other elements. The experience of space as luminous emptiness is the basis of higher spiritual experiences. You will learn the benefits of a balanced sequence of asana that includes movement and some stillness that allows you to regulate fire as well as to harmonise the earth and air elements, two natural enemies. "Asana gives one steadiness (firmness) of body and mind, lightness (flexibility) of the limbs, and absence of disease. The steadiness of earth and lightness of air can be alchemically blended through proper use of asana, even though they are natural enemies. One of the best ways of doing this is to learn the natural order of the elements in the body. Learn the process by attending this half-day retreat and balance the five elements through pranayama and yoga practices.
