Brandan and Mary are BROKE! They can't afford to pay the bills. Worse yet, they've got no income and no plan for how to make money. Brandan was hoping that Mary's grandad might be able to help with a loan. After all, he and the entire family have been living rent free in the home that Brandan paid for! But, as per usual, Mary breaks down in tears and Brandan backs down. "He's old" she says. "I don't want to make him stressed". So, it's back to the drawing board for Brandan!

Here's the worrying thing - every time Brandan tries to have a serious conversation with Mary she descends into an emotional wreck. She's offering no solutions to their problems and seems to have an expectant attitude that Brandan, as an American, should pay because life in the States was easier. But is that really fair? Let's just hope they don't have to resort to selling necklaces because if that's the best they've got I can't see how they're going to make ends meet...
