Enduring Activity: 2021 Pediatric Grand Rounds
“Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia: Life Beyond the NICU"” Target Audience This activity is targeted toward all general pediatric physicians and pediatric subspecialists in the community. Statement of Need Pediatric grand rounds provide physicians a continuous update on emerging trends in caring for the pediatric patient, including new scientific discoveries that provide the underpinning of current pediatric practice. This activity will inform physicians about other issues involving professionalism, socioeconomic issues, and topics related to the ACMGE core competencies. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe the pathophysiology and epidemiology of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. 2. Review evidence-based strategies for prevention and management of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. 3. Discuss long term outcomes of patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. 4. Illustrate how a multidisciplinary approach can improve overall outcomes for patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Faculty Erica L.
