Dixon aims to combine science, policies and data to enhance public awareness and decision making processes that integrate geographical space at a local level. Based on iCAR related work, she hopes to reduce marginalization of communities and improve their adaptation and resilience in the context of climate change and extreme weather events. Environmental Science and Policy Professor at the University of South Florida, a public intellectual, the founder and executive Director of iCAR (Initiative on Coastal Adaptation and Resilience) and the Director of G-SAL (Geo-spatial Analytics Lab).
