SCAR Film, "Peace and Science" |
|
"Science is our common language, and the global importance of Antarctica demands that we all continue to work together - to understand."
The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) was founded in 1958 to organise and catalyse international scientific collaboration in Antarctica. Today, over 30 SCAR groups and three Scientific Research Programmes coordinate Antarctic research worldwide. Not just to understand the Antarctic, but to understand how our entire globe is changing, and ultimately, what it means for us. "Peace and Science" gives an insight into the important work of SCAR, and specifically its three Scientific Research Programmes (SRP), and the vital scientific questions they address.
