Clashes have erupted in Pakistan as two anti-government rallies converge on the capital Islamabad.

In Gujranwala a convoy led by former cricketer, Imran Khan, came under attack from stone throwing hoards.

Officials from Khan's PTI party claim that gunshots were fired at his bullet-proof vehicle during the clashes.

Khan was unhurt, but scores were injured as panic spread through the crowds.

He said the violence will not deter protesters marching on Islamabad.
