Creating Eco-Friendly Families | Elaine J. Cole, Ph.D. | TEDxPortlandCommunityCollegeRockCreek

video thumbnail
There are many actions we can take to reduce our impact on the environment; some have
greater influence than others. Our planet has a limited carry capacity for human population and
choices you make in creating a family can have significant consequences.

Elaine Cole is the Sustainability Coordinator at Portland Community College’s Rock Creek campus and is responsible for the overall coordination of sustainability practices and programs. Some of these include energy conservation, campus-wide composting, and helping to integrate community-based learning into the 3.6-acre learning garden. Elaine has taught environmental education from the shores of Jekyll Island, Georgia to Lake Tanganyika in Burundi. She has always had a deep commitment to population education and is excited to be speaking about this on the TEDx stage.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
