Preparing Indiana for Environmental Change | Ellen Ketterson | TEDxIndianaUniversity |
|
Ellen Ketterson's study of birds allows her to see climate change as not only a global issue, but one that hits close to home. In her Talk, she exposes the effects of climate change on native bird populations and how this can be combatted at the local level. Ellen D. Ketterson is Distinguished Professor of biology at Indiana University Bloomington. Her current research focuses on urban ecology and migration ecology in relation to the effects of climate change. She directs IU’s Prepared for Environmental Change Grand Challenge Initiative, a five-year collaboration between IU and community partners around the state to develop accurate predictions about coming environmental changes, workable solutions to prepare for those changes, and effective ways to engage and communicate with diverse audiences about environmental change. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
