Jaya Janaki Nayaka tweet review: Fans call Rakul Preet Singh the only saving grace of this unoriginal film

Despite facing a clash with Rana Daggubati’s Nene Raja Nene Mantri, the makers seem unfazed. However, with the reviews audience is giving JJN, it’s pretty worrisome. While Rakul has received immense praise for her performance, many have criticised the plot of the story and the done to death theme. In fact, many have even claimed that the whole movie is a drag not worth the money. The predictable storyline hasn’t worked in their favour. Many have even called out Bellamkonda for not wearing the right expressions, further depraving the scene of the sentiment it requires. Many have called the action sequences as the best thing (after Rakul) about the movie.

The Story
It is a simple story of a man falling in love with a woman. However, there’s a twist. A very sensible and boy-next-door Gagan (Bellamkonda) falls for Janaki (Rakul) who is practically the woman of every man’s dreams. The college going students have one peril though and that changes their rapport completely as they cannot be in a relationship with each other. With various enemies standing with daggers around Gagan’s family, will love be able to triumph? Will they be able to overcome all the troubles caused by outsiders? That’s basically the whole plot of the film.

While many have argued that it’s a predictable storyline, Rakul is the only saving grace in this otherwise dull movie. She is and are the impeccable action sequences. A critic of Times of India has claimed, “Jaya Janaki Nayaka is an out-and-out Boyapati Srinu film. The interval bang, true to Boyapati’s style, is praiseworthy and elevates the movie to a different level. The action episodes have been shot well. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is a huge asset to the script, whose beauty lies in the fact that all the characters have been well etched out, giving each actor his due. Rakul is simply terrific as Janaki and her character is the pivot for the entire film. Srinivas shows improvement in acting, over his earlier two films.”

According to IB Times, the audiences are very unhappy with the story. While the action sequences and Rakul – Bellamkonda’s romance kept them going, it has been dragged a bit too much for the audience’s patience. Jagapathi Babu, Tarun Arora, Sarath Kumar, Chalapathi Rao, Vani Viswanath and Catherine Tresa, may have done justice to their roles but it hasn’t impacted the audience in any way.
