Glasgow, Dunoon & the World Green Map at COP26 Climate Fringe Scotland 22 Sept 2021 |
|
Locally-led Green Mapping projects illuminate places where you can take action every day for climate health and community wellbeing. Get inspired to promote your community's nature, culture, social justice and green living resources on a Green Map!
Glasgow Scotland is hosting the United Nations Climate COP26 - Nov 1- 14, 2021. The Glasgow Green Map project is a great example of how to engage people in the making of the map, and Neil Lovelock of Glasgow Eco Trust will introduce this session and share their process to date, including ways to get involved now and during COP26. Hannah Clinch of Tacit Design at the Pop Shop will share elements of the Dunoon Green Map and re-localizing social spinoffs in rural Scotland. Both projects use OGM2, the new Open Green Map platform, as their starting point, and the open source GIS Collective will pop in and share the latest features (see the platform at http://new.opengreenmap.org). Wendy Brawer, who founded Green Map System in NYC 25 years ago, will present some of the remarkable climate-related mapping projects and invite your participation. This movement needs you and your community - join this team at COP26, too! This event is part of the Climate Fringe Week which is organized by Stop Climate Chaos, which also supports the Glasgow Green Map. We'll put all the programming for Green Map at COP26 on this page - https://GreenMap.org/blog/our-climate-events-fall |
