Traditional home hacking - buying/owning the property, living there, and finding a way to rent out part of the home. This will cover partial if not all of your living expenses. Once you factor in cash flow, principal pay down, tax benefits, and appreciation.. you turn your home into a side hustle. 2. Rent hacking - basically getting roommates. This is good if you're just starting out and you're not committed to buying a home yet. You benefit with the strategy of subletting other rooms in the rental. You become the landlord. And the benefit is your personal, out of pocket expenses, will be significantly less. And you get creative like renting out the garage or a parking spot. 3. Creative mode - Living in a camper on a property, living at home with parents and pet sitting the majority of your time at other peoples houses, or if you're in college you could become an RA (resident assistant) and have reduced housing expense that way. Conclusion: There's countless variations of house hacking, but overall the purpose of this video is to help get you started on the journey of financial independence, real estate investing, and lifestyle design.
