Hyundai unveils the NEW IONIQ 6 EV at the LA Auto Show! The IONIQ 6 is inspired by Hyundai’s Prophecy EV concept and is a sporty looking four door EV with a streamliner design. It has an estimated 547 km/340 miles of range for the RWD model and 499 km/310 miles for AWD. It has a 77.4 kWh battery. The AWD model produces 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque and the RWD model 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The IONIQ 6 can support both 400 volt and 800 volt charging infrastructure. With a 350 kW charger, the IONIQ 6 can charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. It can also recoup approximately 105 km/65 miles in 5 minutes with a DC Fast Charger. The standard 10.9 kW on-board charger completes a full charge in 7 hours and 10 minutes with a Level 2 charger. The IONIQ 6 is the second Hyundai model to ride on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular platform which allows for dual motors and extra interior space. This model is part of Hyundai’s plan to introduce 17 BEV models by 2030. The IONIQ 6 has a low drag coefficient of 0.22, the lowest for a Hyundai model and will go on sale Spring of 2023, pricing will be announced closer to that time. Hyundai’s goal is to create unique EV’s, each one to be different from the next having its own look and design but there are still some similarities to each of them like an open living room feel and comfortable cabin providing extra passenger and cargo space, sustainable materials are used on the interior and exterior and the parametric pixel. The IONIQ 6 is sleek and curved with a low nose, active air flaps, elliptical wing inspired spoiler, a new Hyundai H emblem design in the front and rear, 18” or 20” black wheels and more than 700 parametric pixels found in the headlamps, rear combination lamps, front low sensors and air vent garnishes. The Interior of the IONIQ 6 is spacious with plenty of legroom and a flat floor in the rear. It has a 12.3” touchscreen and 12.3” digital driver display under one piece of glass which we see in the IONIQ 5, dual colour ambient lighting, you can choose from a spectrum of 64 colours and six dual colour themes. The four-dot interactive pixel lights on the steering wheel light up when the voice recognition is activated. These lights also use different colours and motions for other vehicle functions.
