STOICISM | How to Escape Judgment ? | Be Stoic |
|
#stoicism is an ancient #philosophy that teaches us to free ourselves from #judgment . According to the stoics , our emotional suffering is caused not by events themselves, but by our judgments about these events. We tend to pass judgments on others and ourselves, which deeply affects us.
By freeing ourselves from judgment, we can achieve a state of serenity and inner peace. We are not affected by others' opinions because we know it is not within our control. We stop inflicting unnecessary suffering on ourselves by projecting imaginary judgments onto others and ourselves. They remind us that things that depend on us are our opinion, our will, our desires, while things that do not depend on us are the body, material possessions, reputation, etc. So, let's decide to live in acceptance rather than reaction, to live in observation rather than judgment.
