Catherine shares her aunt's personal story about finding success as a lawyer as a woman with cerebral palsy. Her talk addresses how and why to end workplace discrimination for the disabled.
Catherine Scherer is a junior soccer player, percussionist, environmental activist, student ambassador, volunteer, yearbook contributor, and writing center peer tutor. In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles. Inspired by her aunt, Catherine challenges us to look deeper into the inequities people with disabilities face. She believes that awareness is a first step to effecting change. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
