Education Today, for the Future | Zenab Adam | TEDxBayeroUniversity

video thumbnail
Throughout history, every society has grappled with how to best educate and prepare its young people for the world they will face. Here in the 21 st century, there is the necessity for education to equip every young person with a set of hitherto unconventional skills.

Academic skills such as mastery of reading/writing, mathematics, and science might be crucial but just aren’t enough. Young people increasingly understand the need to be able to do such things as developing ideas, analyzing data, manipulating machines, technically solving problems as well as empathizing with others in keeping with global digitalization trends. They also need to possess the resilience to learn, unlearn and relearn.

With this new strain of learning to discover, the youth tend to disregard the existing structures of academia, paving way for popular slangs like "School na scam". Zenab Adam is an Educational Consultant, an Early Years Teacher, and a Public Speaking Coach. She believes effective communication and leadership is the key to changing the world.
