Tributes are pouring in for the Emmy award-winning American actress Mary Tyler Moore. She died at the age of 80.

She was best known for her portrayal of an independent career woman in the 1970s Mary Tyler Moore Show.

She became a role model for women who wanted to challenge traditional conventions of marriage and family.
