However, Malaysians were recently left dumbstruck and angry when national women’s badminton singles player Kisona Selvaduray became a target of racial abuse by a politician on social media.

People from all corners of the country poured their support for the 23-year-old player from Seremban, Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, the chairman of the National Sports Council’s (NSC) disciplinary board, has called the action of the politician, Borhanuddin Che Rahim, as ‘biadap’ (insolent), among other things.
