Tall Ship Model Building Barkentine Puako c.1902 Pt.1 Priske

video thumbnail
This video is a video log of the building of a tall ship model called the Puako c.1902. The Puako measured 221 feet on from stem to stern and was rigged as a four masted skysail Barkentine. She was part of a large fleet (23 plus ships) of nearly identical tall ships, all built to carry raw sugar from the Hawaiian Islands to the newly established C&H Sugar Refinery at Crockett, on east San Francisco Bay. This model is a 1:200th scale, was completely scratch built with all sails set and measures about 31" in her display case. It took me about 500 hours to build this museum quality scale replica. To see hundreds of photos of this and other ship models see my web site: www.tallshipsofsanfrancisco.com
