The Oriental Crisis of 1840: An IR Perspective |
|
This was my capstone project with which I received full marks on for PS 394: Crisis Diplomacy. The course comparatively studied the foreign policy decision-making and diplomacy among the major states from 1816-1962 with a focus on crisis bargaining, management, and escalation.
Rather than a historical retelling of the Oriental Crisis of 1840, this video contains my analysis of the crisis as it developed over time, but specifically in August, September, and October of 1840 using an International Relations perspective and through a number of theoretical concepts. In light of the lack of YouTube content covering this historical crisis, and pleased with how the video turned out overall, I've decided to upload the video to YouTube for public viewing. |
