Artists Talk Series, "Activism Through Dance, Part 1: A Historical Perspective" |
|
From the beginning of modern dance in the U.S., activism has played a role in the development and movement of the art form. Join us for Activism Through Dance, a two-part panel moderated by Donald Byrd with guest choreographers, dance historians, dance scholars, and cultural observers.
On Sunday, February 21st at 7pm, we will focus on the history of activism through dance in the U.S. by dancers and choreographers primarily from the modern/contemporary dance tradition; paying particular attention to Black choreographers and Jewish women. The panelists will be Dr. Thomas De Frantz, Theresa Ruth Howard, Dr. Rebecca Rossen, & Dr. John Perpener. These events are free with a suggested donation of $10.
