Atnre Alleyne talks about our track record of investing in the right thing - and the wrong thing, using Solyndra, the Snuggie, and the movie "Moneyball" as examples. We’ve got to think differently. To advance we need to reconsider our investments and disrupt the inequitable system. It’s as simple as parents, students, and communities showing up to participate in the policy making process.

Atnre Alleyne is the founding Executive Director of the Delaware Campaign for Achievement Now (CAN), an education advocacy organization. Prior to launching CAN, Atnre was a Director at the Delaware Department of Education where he led policy and research efforts to pertaining to teacher and leader effectiveness. Atnre is the founder of TeenSHARP, an organization that prepares students of color in Delaware, Philadelphia, and New Jersey for top colleges. He holds B.A. (economics) and M.P.A. degrees from Rutgers University-Camden and an M.A. in political science from the University of Delaware. Atnre lives in Wilmington with his wife Tatiana and daughter Zoryana. He blogs regularly at fiercelyurgent.com.
