video thumbnail
Keila McCracken has always been fascinated with clothing construction and is inspired by the challenges of dressing the human form. She shares this message at TEDxBemidji: Clothing can do more than just clothe us; it can empower, challenge, and create systemic change.

Keila was born and raised in Bemidji, MN and recently moved back to Bemidji from New York City because she was inspired by the area’s dedication to community. She has a BA in Environmental Anthropology from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, and is currently earning a Master’s in Design Anthropology from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. Keila is the owner and operator of Bare Cloth, a sustainable design and clothing business that uses its supply chain to positively impact the local economy, environment, and community. And if she is not doing research or working in the studio, odds are good that she is fly-fishing!
