Simran made her reentry in Varanam Aayiram with Suriya. She was last seen in Karai Oram and a cameo appearance in Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga. Simran has joined Napoleon in a yet to be titled film with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. Samantha plays the heroine in this film. Imman composes the music and Ponram of Rajini Murugan fame directs the film.

The film also has Yogi Babu, Soori, Lal, Manobala and Naan Kadavul Rajendran in the cast. Besides this film, Simran has been working in Vanangamudi with Arvind Swamy and Ritika Singh.
