The Business Plot: The Wall Street Coup to the White House on 1934.

video thumbnail
In 1934, during the FDR administration, retired Maj. General Smedley Darlington Butler denounced that a group of elements of Wall Street proposed him to participate in a fascist revolt to take control of the White House. Fascism was rampant in Italy, Germany and Spain. But also the United States was one step away from a fascist takeover. Roosevelt's New Deal was already a mild fascist system, headed by general Hugh S. Johnson from the National Recovery Administration, the N.R.A.

General Butler declared in a special committee in the Congress that a group of ex-military working on Wall Street, Gerald C. Mc Guire, William Doyle, Robert Sterling Clark and Grayson M-P Murphy, were involved. This case has incorrectly been presented as a coup "against" Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but according to Butler's sworn statement Roosevelt was actually in terms with the Wall Street group, as they had been financing his political career.
