Queensland is in the midst of a heatwave, with one fire near Miles in the Western Downs region currently at emergency level.

The heatwave will continue across south-eastern parts of Queensland today and into tomorrow.

Intense thunderstorm activity is also expected for parts of eastern Australia tomorrow, particularly northern New South Wales and south-eastern Queensland.
