Innovation Ecosystems: Catalysing Open Innovation and Economic Growth |
![]() |
Open innovation has changed the centralized research and development model, allowing universities and external R&D groups to become important collaborators for cities and companies. However, there are still political and cultural barriers to open innovation, as well as intellectual property issues and other legal risks. This conference will talk about the economic advantages of promoting open innovation inside a city’s ecosystem, and about the issues that still need to be improved in order to spread its implementation to a greater number of cities.
