St. Charles Parish Department of Tourism and Economic Devolopment

St. Charles Parish is called home by nearly 53,000 people. This community has long prided itself on being the standard-bearer in South Louisiana when it comes to quality of living. St. Charles Parish Public Schools has been at the forefront of education, a leader among public schools in Louisiana since the mid 1970’s, and the school system is home to more than 9,800 students and 1,600 employees. In addition to having one of the top school districts in the state, St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office is also committed to keeping its residents safe. Crime remains well below the state average here, in fact the parish is coming off its lowest crime rate in more than 20 years.
