Pakistan where former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has been shot and likely wounded in the leg in an attack on his protest march in the eastern city of Wazirabad.

It is yet unclear if he was deliberately targeted as one of his senior aides claimed, or hit by indiscriminate gunfire.

Members of his PTI party say four other persons were hurt in the shooting.

The 70-year-old Mr Khanwas leading the march in the capital, Islamabad to demand snap elections after he was ousted in April.

The former prime minister was seen being taken to a hospital in Lahore

Another party leader who is a provincial health minister, Yasmeen Rashid, says Mr Khan is in a stable condition.

Pakistan Media, an unnamed male suspect has been arrested.
