PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals that have been used in consumer products since the 50s. Like in non-stick cookware, water-repellent clothing, cosmetics, and household cleaning products. Because PFAS are everywhere, they’ve made their way into our environment, food, and water which we consume daily. The CDC and EPA are studying these chemicals and have associated them with health risks like cancer, birth defects, and others. More research is still needed.
