Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac won the mixed doubles tennis gold for the Czech Republic on Friday - then had to address the status of their relationship in the post-match media conference.

The pair beat China's Wang Xinyu and Zhang Zhizhen 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 to win the gold, Siniakova's second Olympic title after she and Barbora Krecikova won the women's doubles in Tokyo three years ago.

Social media has been speculating if the players were still a couple after reports suggested they had split but Machac said the information was "top sceret", while Siniakova told reporters they "liked to confuse" reporters.
