RE-RUN: Social Value Investing in the Horn in America |
|
Our world’s problems may seem too great and too complex to solve - endemic violence, climate change, affordable housing, food insecurity, wealth and income disparity, and so on. However, if the past is prologue, resolution of these daunting challenges will be found. The path toward solutions lies in creative partnerships that break through traditional biases and bring together activists and leaders across perspectives and disciplines. Our topic explores broadening wealth creation and economic development through the collaboration of public, private, and philanthropic/social sectors.
This webinar will look at the potential for bringing together the private, public, and social sectors in order to produce transformative results in areas of under and unequal development. Join Magdi Amin, founder of the African Renaissance Partners, Horn of Africa Fund, and Columbia University's Professor William Eimicke, a pioneer in the measurement of social values as an investment paradigm, in a discussion of practical ways to bring together private investment, local entrepreneurs, and government support to improve the lives of people in this part of the world. Moderated by Roger Wetherall, U.S. Coordinator of Universal Peace Federation's International Association for Peace and Economic Development. |
