Habitat for Humanity International organized an online webinar series as part of Build Solid Ground Project funded by the EU. First online discussion introduced cutting-edge practices in integrated green sustainable housing and urban renewal and delivered recommendations for funding and scaling up these innovations.
Speakers include: • Rick Hathaway, VP of Habitat for Humanity International Europe, Middle East and Africa office – opening remarks • Jane Otima, HFHI, Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter – presented on the Best practices in Africa (case of Liberia slum upgrade and jobs for youth in Africa) • Anaclaudia Rossbach, Cities Alliance – provided examples of integrated innovative multisector and multi-actor practices with high impact potential. • Kecia Rust, Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa – presented about the key factors of impact: Housing and Urban renewal and Job creation • Johann Baar, Hilti Foundation – talked about the role of the Private Sector and how partnerships can be successful • Oumar Sylla, UN Habitat Africa region.
