|
This video is an extract from the Byzantine historian Procopius of Caesarea’s book ‘History of the Wars I’ written around 545AD. Procopius was an eyewitness to the Nike Riots, a devastating episode of civil unrest in the imperial capital of Constantinople. The words of this video come directly from Procopius, translated by H.B. Dewing in 1914.
