Halo Infinite opens with the Banished attacking the UNSC Infinity under the command of Atriox. As Master Chief is killing Banished, Atriox appears and goes toe-to-toe with the Spartan. Master Chief is quickly bested by the brute and thrown out of the Infinity as it goes up in flames, leaving humanity to believe that Master Chief is dead.
