What's up earthlings, in this video we're discussing Africa's biggest streaming platform Showmax.
Showmax was launched in 2015, in South Africa, and now serves more than 70 countries including, France, Australia and the UK.

Fun fact, bet you didn't know that.

In July, Showmax announced the horribly named showmax pro. I'm going to need tech companies to stop referring to their premium or plus products as pro.
Because it really isn't made for proffessionals guys.

So what's the difference between showmax and showmax plus, I mean pro. The pro version of the service includes live sports matches
from the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, and the South African PSL, music and news on top of the normal tv shows and movies
offered on the standard version.

The service first launched in Kenya and Nigeria and later in Uganda at around $10 per month for Showmax Pro Mobile and about $20 for Showmax Pro on Smart TV.

Showmax has some of the best bingable content on any available streaming site on the continent with content from networks like HBO, FX, and ABC only to name a
few. So if you get this error when you try HBO max? Check out showmax, it's a great substitute for HBO lovers.

They also have Showmax originals which I would recommend checking out. Life with kelly khumalo is my current obsession. Also this video isn't sponserd, I just love the service.
I watch it more than I do the highly trancated african version of netflix. I only wish they'd fix their android app for 18.5:9 phones with curved displays because it's just
not the best.

So should you get showmax pro? If you care for news on tv because you don't use twitter, or music on tv because you don't use youtube, or are a sports fanatic, then absolutely.
Now would I get showmax pro myself being such a fan of the platform? Not even a thought. The price is too high for a streaming service and I'm definitely not the target
audience with the extra offerings that they have. I get my news on social media, my music from more streaming apps that I have to pay for, music videos on youtube and I really
don't care for the sports.
