Do you want to keep your heart healthy for a long time? Eating a balanced diet and exercising daily aren’t enough. You also need to take a look at your sleep schedule.
An analysis of various studies found that sleeping less than 7 hours a day raised the risk of heart disease by 13%.
In another analysis, the impact of decreasing amounts of sleep was studied. For every one-hour decrease from seven hours of sleep, the risk of heart disease increased by 6%.
If you have sleep apnea, it is even more important to sleep well every day. Sleep apnea is a condition in which your breathing is interrupted during sleep. Research has shown that people with sleep apnea will have a higher risk of high blood pressure if they don’t get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep every day.
